The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Violence, Politics & Democracy speaker series offers scholars, analysts and practitioners a space to discuss the threats to democracy that, if left unchecked, have the greatest potential to lead to violence.

As part of the Violence, Politics, & Democracy initiative, HFG will host a series of live and virtual discussions with scholars and practitioners to advance understanding of antidemocratic threats in the United States and other mature democracies.

The series begins by examining the impact of political violence and threats in more than 60 elections happening across the world in 2024. Future events in the series will explore identity politics and othering, the rise of illiberalism, and democratic erosion.

The 90-minute events are open to the public.

The Violence, Politics & Democracy speaker series is part of a multi-year initiative of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation. Learn more about the project here.
